EFT (sometimes known as Tapping) is an evidence based therapy that works in much the same way as acupuncture, but without the needles, and with the added benefit that it can be carried out in the form of group sessions or one-to-one sessions (all non-contact), or even remotely.
The different elements of stress that people experience: anxieties, worries, fears, and physical tension can melt away when worked on with EFT. It also has a strong track record of helping with physical pain, trauma, negative emotions, addictions and mental health issues.
This is achieved by tapping on certain points on the body where nerve endings are denser, this stimulates our central nervous system creating beneficial electrical changes, whilst at the same time using the mind’s ability to focus on specific thoughts, feelings, negative beliefs or images that you want to change.
Often it is effective where all other treatments and therapies have failed, and whilst results with deep rooted issues can take several sessions of EFT, it is also possible to get immediate and long-lasting results in many cases.
The flexibility of EFT makes it suitable for everyone regardless of age and ability.

EFT Workshops for Schools
EFT can play a major part in helping people of all ages and abilities to release fear, anxiety, trauma, self-doubt and even pain quickly and effectively, with long lasting results, often with the results being achieved more quickly in children.
At Mindset-Massage we have a wealth of knowledge in Mental Health Awareness, working with children of all ages and abilities both in and outside of the school environment and, most importantly, are passionate about supporting young people, their parents, carers and teachers.
Many children have had to adjust to dramatic changes in their education, daily routine and home life, and with all the uncertainty in today’s climate the impact on their mental health is only going to intensify. In a recent survey by youngminds.org.uk students highlighted the kind of support they wanted from their school or college;
“We asked young people what support schools and colleges should offer. Respondents emphasised the importance of various forms of pastoral support, including easier access to mental health support, and having someone they could talk to if they needed to. Some respondents referred to hiring more mental health professionals, so that teachers would not be expected to take on this role. Many respondents wanted regular check-ins on how they were feeling over the coming term”
Our workshops for schools are a fun, simple and effective way to introduce children to the benefits of EFT, providing them with an easy to remember tool to help them deal with any anxieties, worries or fears they may be experiencing.
They can be adapted according to age and ability and include:
- Healthy and constructive self-soothing techniques
- Safely managing, owning and overcoming negative feelings
- Accepting emotions without the need to act out damaging behaviour
- Meet ‘Tappy Bear’ – a useful tool for shy, young or non-verbal children
- An age relative tapping chart
A typical workshop would last between one and two hours, however for schools they tend vary in time, depending on the age and ability of the participants, with younger children shorter sessions are recommended and can still be highly effective as children generally seem to accept and respond to EFT very well.
